1. Check whether the vehicle supports wired CarPlay or wired Android Auto:
a. Try using an iPhone with a USB cable to connect to the vehicle's USB port and confirm whether CarPlay can be launched. If it cannot be launched, your vehicle may not support wired CarPlay, in which case the Play2Video Pro will not work. If wired CarPlay can be launched, the Play2Video Pro should work.
b. If the vehicle does not support wired CarPlay, check whether it may support wired Android Auto. Try using an Android phone running Android 11 or above, connected via a USB cable to the vehicle's USB port, and confirm whether wired Android Auto can be launched. If it cannot be launched, your vehicle does not support the Play2Video Pro. If wired Android Auto can be launched, after the Play2Video Pro has been powered on for 45 seconds, use a SIM ejector pin to press and hold the reset button in the heat-dissipation hole for 3 seconds, then briefly press it once; it will switch to the wired Android Auto protocol and restart automatically before it can connect to the head unit. (To switch back to the wired CarPlay protocol, use the same method.)
Note: If you do not have a compatible phone, you can check whether the icons for CarPlay or Android Auto appear on your car display and make sure they have been activated. It is recommended to consult the official documentation of your car or contact the car dealer for more accurate information.
2. Check the USB connection:
You can replace the Play2Video Pro's USB cable with an Android phone's data cable, make sure the USB cable is correctly inserted into the vehicle's USB port, try different USB ports in the car, and make sure the vehicle's USB port is not occupied by other devices. (Do not use the Play2Video Pro's USB-A female port to supply power to other devices.)
3. Play2Video Pro and the head unit system:
If the above steps do not solve the problem, try resetting the vehicle's multimedia head unit and the Play2Video Pro. For resetting the vehicle's multimedia head unit, refer to the vehicle's user manual or look for the restore factory settings option in the settings menu.
The Play2Video Pro can be reset by using a SIM ejector pin to press and hold the reset button in the heat-dissipation hole for 15 seconds. After the reset, connect the device again and check whether the problem is solved.
